Animal Wednesday (Coyote)

Today, I captured my first Coyote, on video that is :-). The first video(Blogger put it on the bottom, I wanted it on the top, so watch the the one below the post first, then go to the top one) is of her (not sure why I thought it was a her, but I know it was) waiting for the right second to capture a little prairie dog, the second video is after she had done so and was finishing her meal and taking off, sorry I was a little shaky and I was too far away to get a really good image, but I did my best. I felt sorry for the prairie dog, but I was also hoping she would catch it as she was so thin and looked hungry. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that a coyote sighting always means big changes for me, I think this is a very good sign :-) as I am making big changes and working magic in my life right now. Happy Wednesday. XOXO

Updates

First, thank you all for your prayers, they are very much appreciated. My mom is much improved, she had slurred speech and could not use her left hand, but she speaks much better now and has worked hard to get her left hand working, and she can walk, which was a concern.
She is out of ICU. I still don't know when she will be home, but should have the answer soon.
I have not sold any paintings (yet) (see post below for details), but dear Angela bought two of my wall hangings, so that it $27 for me and $3 for the sea turtles, Thank you Angela! Every little bit helps. I also wanted you to know that if any of you want a painting, but just can't swing the price, let me know (email me) and perhaps we can work out something, I am willing to go down in price if you really want one.
Blessings and Happy Sunday! XOXO

S.O.S

Okay, here is the deal. I was all set to have a little painting sale (see above paintings) and I was going to give 75% of the money to these lovely people who are helping with the animal rescue
in the Gulf. Then last night I got a call that my mom has had a stroke, and now I need some money to get home. My mom is okay, but she is going to be needing me when she gets home which could be weeks or longer, we just don't know much yet, she has my brothers and her boyfriend, but sometimes you just need your daughter. My mom has had a very rough couple years and I have not been home for over a year, it is time. I will be needing an A+ pet sitter first and then I will find a way to make it happen. Every little bit of cash helps. I am going to need about a thousand dollars to make it there.
The top painting is 8"x 8", Venetian plaster and collage and pigment: $125+12.00 for shipping
Next down is 8"x 8", Venetian plaster and pigment:$225 + 15.00 for shipping
3rd down is 5"x 5", Venetian plaster and acrylics: $99 + 10.00 for shipping
Last one is 8"x 8", Venetian plaster and acrylics: $175 + 12.00 for shipping, I set the prices for less than half than what they would be at the gallery (galleries take 50%, a lot of people don't know that) and also the price reflects the amount of time I have in each one. I will give half of all the sales here. The rest will fund my trip. If any of you are interested please leave a comment or email me. I can do it through pay pal or take a check and if you want more photos or more info I can email you. Also know that if you don't want a painting that is okay too, but I would ask for your prayers and good thoughts. I will keep you all updated.
P.S. If you buy anything in my ETSY shop in the next week I will give 10% to http://www.imms.org/
P.S.S. I was inspired by Lori!
Blessings. Love. XOXO

Animal Wednesday

This is Finn, a clients dog. She just got him from a shelter, he had been abandoned, now I ask you who would abandon a dog like this? Finn is 5 months old and he is a doll, sweet and radiant. I love him :-).
Happy Wednesday! XOXO

My First Real Video (Where I Run)

This is a little video I took out where I go with my dog to run and walk. I am sorry that the color is so off, it is very hazy because of the fires in Santa Fe. I hope you enjoy, watch for a very special guest :-). Robin, and mom I know you will recognize this spot, having been there many times! Happy Monday. XOXO

New Painting

(Click on image to enlarge and see the yummy detail)
Here is my latest painting. The photos are not great, but I lost patience with trying to get the perfect shot, some paintings are just impossible to get good photos of and this is one of them :-).
This one is a bit larger then the other new pieces, 12"x12", Venetian plaster and pigment on board. Another "Dreaming of Paris " #4. Please let me know what you think.
Today is Sunday, YAY! As usual I will be painting and reading and birdwatching and blogging, all my normal, wonderful, Sunday pastimes. I hope you all have a grand day! XOXO

Raven Visit

I have a rare Friday off and this morning I was watching the birds that come to eat the birdseed I put out for them and for the very first time a huge Raven came and sit on my fence. At first I was thinking, what is that huge bird, then I got a closer look and saw it was my beloved Raven.
Maybe it was Renee saying hi. I did not have time to get my camera and take a photo of him and had I tried I would have missed time with him, so I found this photo to share.
Happy Friday Raven sisters! XOXO

Animal Wednesday

Yesterday, when I planted my flowers, the boys went out with me. The cats can only go in the yard when I am there, as we have lots of mean dogs about and coyotes not to mention fast cars, so they are mostly indoor cats, but they love it when they get outside. There is no picture of Max as he does not stop moving enough for a photo :-). Happy Wednesday!. XOXO

Sweet Flower Planting Day!

Next to painting I love gardening best, but my yard is tiny and I have a male dog, so I plant in pots and make do. I am a bit late doing this, but it has been too hot the last two weeks, which is planting time here, any earlier and things can still freeze. I hope you like the results!
Also I revamped my blog, but no one seems to have noticed yet! Now that things are planted time to go paint! Happy Tuesday! XOXO

What I am Thankful for Today

These clouds for one, I took these shots yesterday as I was coming home from a job, they looked too beautiful to be real to me. I have never seen such wonderful clouds until I came to New Mexico. I am also thankful for the cricket that I hear outside my window every night, I love that sound. I am thankful for my animal boys, everyday is a gift. Thankful for my family and friends and bloggy friends, whom I love very much. I am thankful for this Sunday and for two new boards I just primed, for the fact that this is my painting and reading and relaxing day. I am thankful for my doves and all the birds I feed who give me a daily show. I am thankful for "Lost" which I have just begun renting, I am in my 3rd season and I am in love with Desmond :-).
I am thankful for spirit which guides me daily. What are you thankful for today? Happy Sunday! Love ♥ XOXO

Sunday Randomness

Yay! It is Sunday and you know how much I love Sundays. No matter what, usually it is a painting day (I paint on other days as well, but Sunday is my sacred painting day :-). I have 4 paintings started at the moment, I hope to finish at least one in the next two days. Photos to follow.
The show at Cafe Loka has begun, I forgot to take photos, but I promise I will at some point.
I took this photo outside of Cafe Loka many months ago, thought I would share, doesn't it look like the top of a castle? Those are pigeons sitting on top.
Not much going on besides art and that is just how I like it. It is too hot to go anywhere anyway, we are having a heatwave and being so close to the sun here in New Mexico it is very intense if it goes over 90.
I hope you all have a wonderful day. Love. XOXO

Pssst

I have some fun news. I am having a show at Cafe Loka in Taos. Kj, you and I had coffee there
remember? I have the little Paris painting at the gallery next door and the owner of the cafe liked it and wanted to see more, which I showed him today and now I have a little show for a month. Usually a cafe would not be my pick to show work, but this cafe is very special and very modern and classy, so it is an honor to show my work there.
* I did not lift a finger to make this happen, so I have to say it is a result of "The Process" from my book "Busting Loose from the Money Game" see other posts for information.
Happy Friday!!!! XOXO

Animal Wednesday (a little early)

My handsome Spike went to the vet today (see below post). I did not get the miracle I wanted,
but I did get the minimum I was willing to accept. The stone in his bladder has not gotten smaller, but it is not bigger either. He is basically the same and holding his own. He has lost a pound and a half, which I thought was a good thing as he is an overweight kitty, but the vet said it was not good for him to lose weight as it stresses his kidneys, this makes no sense to me. Any vet techs out there want to explain, please do. I am grateful he is not worse. We will continue to do our best. Everyday with Spike is a great gift. He is a wonderful, wonderful cat. Thank you all for your prayers and love. XOXO
