The Gift

It is almost Sunday(my favorite day) and today I found an artist who I fell in love with right away. I love her art and I love her spirit. I thought I would give you all a gift and share her with you. Her name is Swoon.

Here is a quote from Swoon:“You start to build something like these boats, and you can’t believe it yourself, but enthusiasm has a way of sparking other people,” she says. “What this project has shown me is that there is no place for pessimistic disbelief in the world; it’s just not useful. Once you’ve decided to be on the side of audacious wonder, beauty, and joy, you can’t go back.”

A Bit of Randomness

Yesterday Nolly shared her Universe note, so today I thought I would share mine:

If you would see everything filtered through the light of truth, Anne, you'd never, ever again know sadness, lack, or limits. You'd see that you are safe. Bathed in love. Surrounded by admirers in both the physical and spiritual realms you grace. You'd see only beauty, perfection, and meaning. And you'd realize that just as the stark contrasts of time and space and the illusions of have and have not imprison you, so too can they make possible wings that will lift you higher.Seek understanding, or as it was once put, seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, and everything else will be added unto you. (Same thing, different audience, grossly misunderstood to this very day.)Cawwww, cawwwwwww, cawwwwwwwww.... (Soaring bird sounds.)Tallyho, The Universe
It made me feel happy, and hopeful. Also work is slowing down and I am determined to have more time to create and to have fun. I am also working on changing my relationship to money, as mine stinks :-). All this will make me a more blissful person. I am at the same time, learning to love my life, just as it is, warts and all.
Tallyho.
Caw, Caw.
Happy Thursday. XOXO

Fresh from the Kiln

These are my new ceramics. I have more, but the photos did not come out, so will have to try again when I have time. A cup, wall hangings, earrings and pendants. I will be putting them on my ETSY site in the next week or so. All are porcelain. Let me know what you think.
Happy Monday! XOXO

Renee's Book of Love

Darling Kj came up with this lovely idea for all of us who knew and loved Renee, to each write about what she meant to us and then Kj will put every one's pages in a book and send it to Renee's family. Isn't that a beautiful idea? Kj asked that we all advertise this so no one will be left out, so here is my advertisement :-).
Also my dear longtime friend Robin has finally started a blog! I have known her for more years then I can even remember, I think we have been friends for at least 28 years. Please go and say hi and give her a big blog welcome.
That is it for me, too tired to type :-).
Love you.

I thought it was Spring!

When I left my house this morning it was nice and sunny and I wore a little sweatshirt hoodie, then this afternoon it started to snow, and has not stopped. I took photos, but I haven't the energy to load them off my camera. This has been a hard week, much work and no play and I still don't feel good, I am very cranky. However, I have learned a lot and I realized why I am so cranky and angry. First I did not do right by myself on my birthday, I should have taken it off and treated myself better, live and learn :-). Also I decided to forget about the gallery I told you all about, I decided that today. I realized that even though the owner loves my work, he is a scared cat and is afraid to take a risk, for whatever reasons. He has been like a lover who never calls and yet, you keep after him, hoping and praying. I let go of the man I loved over a year ago for the same reason, and now I figured out I was doing the same thing with the gallery. I don't have that kind of time anymore. I want to learn from my mistakes, not keep making them. I am also dedicated to making time for more fun! So even though this has been a rough week (and it is not over yet, I am working all weekend), and I am tired, I am grateful for all I have learned :-). What did you learn this week?

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday. I wish I could say I was doing something really special, but I have made the choice to work and it is also fluid night for my cat Spike (I give him an IV, 2 days a week for his kidneys), so there will be little time for fun. However, I did buy myself a cupcake and I have presents to open later and phone calls from friends and family. First I am taking a run out in the beauty on this fine, sunny, Spring like day. I will make it a fun day no matter what, because fun is all in our heads anyway :-).

Caution, Coyote

This morning on the way to work a huge Coyote ran in front of my car. If you have been coming to this blog for a while you may remember that whenever I see a coyote, it means big changes are coming. Sometimes those changes are good and sometimes they appear not so good. I am hoping for some good ones this time. I love coyotes which is why I think they always have something special for me when I see one, and today the sighting was only for me. Yikes. XOXO

Random Thoughts...

Taos Mountain 3 days ago. What's happening: I am sick, either a bad cold or really hideous allergies, not sure which, but I am working through and around it :-). I sent a photo of my latest painting to the gallery owner of the gallery I most want to be in here in Taos and the owner sent an email back saying that my painting made him feel like dancing :-). I am doing art, working on pages for one of the Artshine books, I hope to finish this weekend and will share photos. That's it for now. Love. XOXO

Renee is Free

Our wonderful Renee is now free of her pain. She is dancing and singing and I know having the time of her life. We here left behind will miss her and mourn. Renee was a special, loving, kind woman. Any words I would say cannot match the feelings behind them. I love you dear, raven sister, heart sister, until we meet again...XOXOXOXO

"Alice" Review

Let me tell you that I won't spoil the movie by telling you everything that happens, I hate that!

First the good: In the first hour or so, I was in heaven. It is so yummy you could eat it. I love the sets, the clothes, the castles. I loved the Caterpillar (Alan Rickman, who I LOVE) and the Cheshire-cat (Stephan Fry) the very best, the March hare and dormouse are pretty cute too. The acting is great by all except a few. I thought Anne Hathaway and Crispin Glover were weak in their parts. Johnny was wonderful as always and Mia Wasikowska was a fine Alice. Helen Bonham Carter is terrific.
Now the bad: I have no real complaints except for one big one, they changed the story. I love the original story, so that was a big disappointment, but it may not be for you. I figure they did that to please the masses, whatever the reason I feel it was a huge mistake.
Being the sport I am I decided to love the movie anyway. I loved that it was in 3D and it was a very fun ride with lots of eye candy.
I give it a B-.

ALICE!

I have been waiting for months for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland", in 3D no less.
First, it looks luscious and yummy and second, the mad hatter is played by Johnny Depp.
It opens tomorrow and I already have my tickets. A friend and I will be the first there.
I will give you my review this weekend. FUN!
In more serious, not so fun news, please continue saying prayers and thinking good thoughts for Renee, who continues to battle cancer.
Also my dear mom is doing well as far as healing and such, but she is having a lot of pain, so prayers and good thoughts for her would be much appreciated too.
Happy Thursday. XOXOXO

New Painting

I was getting tired of working on the large painting, so I did a small one this weekend.
8"x 6", front and side view. Venetian plaster and acrylics. Not sure what the title is yet.
I would love to know what you think.
XOXO
