Art Love

I love this quote, though I don't agree with the first line, I do agree with the rest:
Though a living cannot be made at art, art makes life worth living. It makes starving, living. It makes worry, it makes trouble, it makes a life that would be barren of everything, living.
It brings life to life. -John Sloan
For me art is my bliss and I cannot imagine a life without it.
I am off to do some right now.
What are your thoughts on art?

Oh, yes, art is life. An artist's expression is her heart and soul, whether painting, gardening, or writing. Chogyam Trungpa, one of the most prolific Buddhist masters of our day, believed artistic expression was one of the greatest acts in which we could engage. And that our chosen art will teach us pretty much eveything we need to know about life. I agree...
Blessings!

Art is my saving grace. I do altered books and mixed-media projects whenever I need to break from the keyboard.

I've been a professional writer for more than 25 years, but the writing life has become more of a business than an art or a craft. (Of course, that's just the reality and nature of freelance writing!) But my artwork allows me to play, not take myself or my "work" so seriously. I also see cooking and gardening -- the domestic arts -- as a way to be creative daily.

I can't imagine my life without my art (poetry). It makes me feel alive and it helps me to just feel...

Art can make a dark place bright and interesting. The pleasure of self expression can only be beaten by knowing that you have touched a kindred spirit through art soul to soul.

I think putting a little "art" into the everyday mundane tasks makes life a lot more fun too.

This is a beautiful and meaningful verse. OK, I;d rather skip the starving ;p part but if we have enough passion about what we love, that's a success itself. Lots of love Annie :D

Your art will make the journey worth continueing..... If not for art, I could not have made it to 51 yrs old. Art allows me to make sense of the senseless.....Enjoy the ride!

It enhances our lives. Sometimes I see a work of art that enriches my day.

I came across a Finnish artist's blog and some of his paintings just did that for me, like this one:

i couldn't agree more. or less for that matter. creativity is not optional for anyone. it's only the form that's different among us.
