Drawing

Today, I thought I would share with you one of my drawings.
This one is called "Intermediaries" and it is 22"x 30".
Graphite and colored pencil on paper. I love to draw almost as
much as I love to paint. It has a whole different feel to it.
As you may have guessed if you have been reading this blog for
long, I am a bit obsessed with circles :-). I can't really explain why,
it started about 3 years ago. I can hardly stand a square these days :-).
Simply can't even look at one without making a face :-).
That's it for today. Love you. OXOX

I like the controlled palette. (Yep little parrot me said that!) With circles there is no end or beginning, no hard edges for your eye. Cue "Windmills of your mind" song. Ancient Celtic art had no straight lines- everything curved like nature. their houses were circular too. I wonder if the arrow straight things like buildings and the objects we fit into our lives are an indication of just how far and out of touch we have become from nature?

I'm definately going for that coffee now. That's 2 deep thoughts for the morning so I'll have to spend the rest of my day in frippery. LOL

Lovely posts Annie

Of all shapes, I love circles the most. Circle represents completeness and wholeness in chinese astrology, and in the numbers, all numbers with circles, 3,6,8,9 are favoured numbers which car owners pay a lot of money to have, in addition to no. 1 of course. In feng shui, 6,8 and 9 are the most auspicious numbers, again with circles. love you too :)

The drawing is marvelous. Almost like those Buddhist eyes. I love the different angles of the circles. How lovely, really, to be sort of obsessed with a shape like that.

Sorry me again: I had to do a meme today ...want to play some tag? You're it!!

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your Summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.

Circles have an adaptable nature to them. Squares seem too stiff. Just one interpretation. What's yours?

what marvelous circles you make! by all means don't let any old square divert your talent. i like how some of the circles don't look completely circle-ish. it makes me feel better about the fact that drawing anything intentional is beyond me completely. these have an accidental "whoops!" look about them that make them fun :)
