Exquisite Bliss

I can't help it.
I stayed in this world of childish wonder,
I think that a lot of creative people never grow up.
I am certain a real man would not paint any pictures!
Or wonder about the universe
Or believe in dreams.
Or think that trees sometimes look at him.
Willem de Kooning
This quote of de Kooning's (my #1 all time favorite artist) always makes me dreamy and inspired. I thought I would share. I am up to my eyeballs in art projects and ideas, I started with making 10 tiny and small porcelain bud vases, I loved making them so much I can't even express it in words. Exquisite bliss. I will give you a look at them if they make it through the firing and glazing process. It was enough though to form them, each one a different surprise.
Next up is a new painting or two or four or 10 :-) and some drawing and then some more vases and maybe some bangles. This is a very yummy way to start the new year. Happy Sunday. XOXO

de kooning was a bit mad, but that's what I love about most artists, including myself!

I love the new "hot" background Annie.

I was lying awake obsessing about a new project too! Don't you love it when nothing can stop that creative energy? yay!!
Thank goodness for new years and new inspiration♥

I follow only 7 or 8 bloggers and am dedicated to about 4, your blog I rarely comment on but always get your updates. Sometimes I wonder if I should drop your blog and not follow. Then I am reminded we have similar interests and I am jealous of the opportunities you make for your self. I hope to see what you have fired in the Kiln or otherwise. I wish I had time for Kiln work or even went out to buy a new round of Clay.

Happy New Year,

Sincerely,
The Tusk

Yeah, I like your new background too. Makes me feel your high energy level,,,vases, paintings, etc.,,,,and I LIKE that! very much!
Like Lolo said, De Kooning was a tad of a nutcase,,,but maybe it is fitting for many of us, and I love the quote!

Erin-Yes it is :-).xoxo
Babs-de Kooning was not nuts, he was wonderful until he started drinking and then when he was older, in his 80's he did lose his mind a bit. xoxo

You know Annie, I never really understood what you meant about experiencing so much joy in the creative process. Now I do. My prose or poetry isn't always turn out the way I expected, but just the process of expressing is sheer delight. I'm so glad you are having so much fun.

Annie - I am so happy that you are creating new work. :) I am up to my eyeballs in not so fun stuff, but one good thing that comes from it is this: I cannot wait to have some time for myself to make things. xox! Pam

It's funny - I'm not an artist at all, and yet that resonates with me. Because I am still a dreamer and a wonderer.

So I will look up de Kooning Annie. Happy New Year to you! I am trying to catch up ... actually just so you know I am resolved to spend less time online because I have so much stuff backed up that I must get on with. If I'm not popping by as often it's only because of that.

Oodles of love & hugs xx Jos

Have a lovely inspiring time.

There's no feeling quite like it when the drive to create hits and you just follow it.
