The Lightness of Being

Lately I have been thinking about becoming lighter. I want to be so light that I float.
I am not talking about weight here, though being lighter in that way would be good :-).
I am talking about being light in my heart, being light in my thinking. I hang on to so much junk, junk that mostly comes from other people and junk that I make up, stories I tell myself that are not true, or even if they are, they are junk and I don't need it. All that stuff weighs me down makes me think that things matter when they really don't. I want to let go and fly. Since I have been doing "the process" (see other posts about this) I have become lighter. My goal is to have no goals :-). Except to lighten up, don't take anything seriously and have more fun. It may seem trivial, being light and having fun, but I think it is a very worthy goal, it makes one more fun to be around, it spreads joy, it heals. I am off to paint and glaze and start my Christmas list. I am off to float and fly. Happy Sunday!!! XOXO

Have a wonderful time with the glazing. I hope you succeed in being lighter inside. Yes some of those tales we tell ourselves can be heavy and not productive to our wellbeing.

I love this post, Annie! "light in my heart, light in my thinking," yes! the junk we tell ourselves... why do we do this? why don't we tell ourselves positive, good messages. I'm going to be better at this! :)
thanks!

Yes this really speaks to me too Annie.

..."I am off to float and fly."...

Just totally loved this bit. Think I might toddle off and try a bit of floating and flying too.

I so agree about junk, and particularly the things that we tell ourselves. So very true.

Big huge hugs to you. Love Jos xx

[edit of previous comment ... my glasses fell off and I didn't notice that I'd typed 'things' twice! xx]

My first thought when I saw the picture was, "Wow, she's found heaven. Can I be there, too?:)" Annie, I think you are on to something by lightening your load.

May you float up to that light and kiss it.
