Toads and poems

Happy Saturday. I thought I would share with you photos I took of this wonderful Horn Toad while I was on a run (yes, I take my camera with me while I run :-). I have so many projects going that it is hard for me to choose what to do, but today I will be working on the painting for poet Erin Davis, who is editing my book. I will share it after she receives it as I would not want to spoil the surprise for her. I am also working on a few other paintings. I am excited as my good friend L is having a show tomorrow of his wonderful photographs and I can't wait until he sells some! Good luck L! I will be there with bells on :-). In other news I have had little work and no art sales and I am attempting to stay calm and trust that all is well, I KNOW the Universe will pull a rabbit out of it's hat :-). It helps me to write that :-). I want to share a poem that Erin shared with me yesterday, it moved me greatly:
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me. --Emily Dickinson
Have a wonderful day! XOXO

So glad you love the Dickinson poem! I can't wait to see my painting! Love the picture of the toad. I'm going for a walk today on one of the trails near my house. I think I'll take my camera, too.

Bizarre creature, that.

That's a lovely poem and good for you for holding fast to the belief that all will turn out well for you. Believe that the world is an abundant place and that is what your reality will be.

Thank you for stopping by my place for a visit today and leaving the lovely note on my doorstep.

I adore that poem.
Such wisdom in those words of long ago.

You'll be okay Annie. I have a feeling the Universe is quite fond of you, as are we ;)

annie, you sound like you're having a good weekend. emily dickinson was an amazing woman in her time. i most remember her poem 'i heard a fly buzz when i died'. i always thought that is so damn basic and so damn realistic!

I love that poem by ED. It is so calming...The toad photos are such fun. I have never seem one in person, so you are a lucky one. Such unique creatures.

As to your art, like Carolynn says, I hope you will hold fast and true. Just by blogging, you are expanding your network of people and letting others know about you and your work. If we keep sending our intentions out there, and our hearts remain strong and true, blessings do come... Enjoy your day!
