Catch up and Something Completely Different
Remember when I said a client and friend passed away a couple months ago? Well, she was a beader and she left me all her beads and findings, at first I was going to give them away, but then I thought since my art sales are not exactly good right now, I might try my hand at beading. I did it in my 20's, so I am a bit rusty, but like riding a bike it comes back to you. These are my first efforts and I am sure I will get much more creative as I go, it is great fun and very addictive. I will be putting them in my ETSY shop this week, but if you would like anything here let me know, I take paypal or a check. I am not sure of what I have, some brass, glass and plastic beads for sure. Prices are 25 for the top two and 20 for the bottom two pairs, I can't get a great photo of the necklace, but here I have a close up in the last photo. I will be beading all November and will be sharing with you my efforts.
I have been busy, one of my best friends from the bay area came for a long overdo visit, M is pictured here, we ate out a lot and my favorites were the Love Apple (the photo of the steeple) and The Old Martina's Hall, (the bar pictured above), out of this world great food. We took a trip to Santa Fe and these photos are of buildings and things we saw around Canyon Road. We had so much fun and now I miss her more than ever. She brought me the best gift, a juicer! I have been making yummy juice all week. I love you dear one.
The last photo is of our first snow last week.
That is about it for me. Let me know what you think of the jewelery! XOXO

Hodge Podge(Goodbyes, Thank you's, New Work and Animal Wednesday)

This is my last post for a couple of weeks as I am leaving town this weekend and will likely be too busy to post while on my trip.
I have been struggling with painting for a few weeks, I knew something new wanted to come.
I had to give it space, take walks, meditate, read and finally this weekend it came. The tip top photo is my brand new painting and also a close up. Please let me know what you think, even those of you who do not like abstract. You can click on it to make it larger
The next three photos down are Zoe my new girl, Finn, a friend's wonderful dog, and then two love bird Ravens.
Yesterday I received this beautiful moleskine journal from my sweet friend in the UK, Joss, not only did she send this, but it is the second one as the first one got eaten by the post office, she remembered that I said I wanted one in a post once.
Last Week I received a wonderful surprise from another friend in the UK, Melanie, she had gone to Amsterdam for her birthday and bought me these sweet little China clogs, so dear of her to think of me. Thank you Joss and Melanie for always being there for me. I love you both.
I hope you all have a wonderful two weeks, I will miss you! XOXO

Saturday 13 (Mish Mash)

First, this is a photo of me, in honor of Lo. I hate having my photo taken and despite my friend
Robin's attempts to teach me to pose I always look stiff and fat and I never like my smile. I can live with this photo though and so I am posting it, it is already on my Facebook page, so I am getting used to it being out there. Someday I will have a good self image. I am working on it :-).
Most of my 13 don't have photos. This week I met a blogger friend, Becky. This is only my 2ND meeting with a blogger, the first was Kj this last Winter. That was a lovely experience. Becky and I were able to spend half a day together and it was wonderful. She is beautiful and talented and a bit younger than me. It was a delight meeting her and I hope we will visit more.
I also spent a day out at my friend J's house this is the back of my other friend J who went with me. This is in J's back yard, isn't it stunning?
It was a very social week for me. Most of my friends are hermits like me. I think it just sort of goes with being an artist, at least it does for the ones I know. My mom asked me the other day why I did not need people. I told her I did need people, but I did not need them all the time. I have always been a loner and I get worse as I get older. Of late I have no interest in romance or men and it has been a huge relief. I think you build a certain kind of strength when you go it alone.

This week I also spent some time with my friend B, she just had a baby about 6 weeks ago. I thought I would share a bit of sweetness with you.
I also got my ceramics out of the kiln this Friday, only 1 pendant made it, out of 20, as when the kiln was going the power went out! Poop.
Oh gosh I only made it to 6, this may have a 2ND part :-).
I did my best Kj.
Happy Saturday!
XOXO

B Update
I am not giving up on my boy and with the help of my blogging friend Teri I am working to keep him alive. As I can't afford to go to the vet (I still owe them a bunch) I must do this on my own with some help from my friends like you and non bloggers R and V. I gave him fluids today as well as Spike. It can't hurt and it may in fact help. He did drink some water today and he ate a tiny bit of tuna. In the morning I am off to get more fluids and other stuff that Teri suggested and meat baby food. Only time will tell. Pray hard and think good thoughts. And by the way Spike is doing great. I am coming to terms with things and trying to keep happy. As the brilliant Renee says there are no more perfect days, only perfect moments. I am keeping my eye on the good moments when they come. Thank you all for being so great and loving. I love you. XOXO

More Life
I am as busy as a bee these days. I am cleaning places in my house that have not been cleaned for a year :-). It feels good. Today is the final clean before my mom comes. I also have a new little problem. A sweet cat has come to me for help. I can't let her in the house as my cat Max will not tolerate a new cat, so I made a box home for her on my porch and I am feeding her and looking for a home she will be happy in. I believe she is an abused kitty. The thing about Taos is that it is a beautiful place, but like all places there is a very dark side. The treatment of animals here is beyond cruel. Please pray I find her a home with lots of love, she deserves it. This is going to be a very busy time with work and my mom and brother and his wife, I won't have much time to post or visit, but know that I am thinking of you and will catch up when I can. Also I have a new blog friend who I am becoming very fond of indeed and she has real life and death health issues and members of her family are also in much need of your prayers and good thoughts. Her name is Renee, please send up a prayer for her and her family. And since we are praying send one up for M.Kate and her family as well for good health. Let me throw in a couple more :-). Keep sending good thoughts up for my cousin R and I have an old friend (we'll call her R too)who is feeling very lonely. Okay you all get halos!
Thank you! Have a most wonderful week! See you when I see you :-). XOXO
