Fun with Cameras

On a recent trip to Santa Fe to see an art opening for my lovely friend Alexandra Eldridge I attempted to take a photo of my favorite lone tree on the outskirts of Taos, as we were whizzing by I snapped these and I think they are kind of cool in an odd way. Then later I of course forgot to take my camera into the show which is why I brought it in the first place :-).

I am off to work on paintings, these days I have many going on at once. I will be sharing them soon. Happy Saturday! XOXO

Sunday Wandering Randomness

This is the scene on Taos mountain yesterday. Yes, that is SNOW.
Last night I was in my kitchen (my studio) covered in Venetian plaster.
My newest painting is almost done and I should have photos for you tomorrow. I am thinking of all sorts of nifty things I can do with these new techniques Alexandra taught me. And it is great fun. So today will be spent PAINTING! I LOVE Sundays :-).
As for the money game I am playing, I had the inspired thought to have a sale for you on my ETSY site and many of you wonderful women bought my work! I want you to know the money I made so far will be spent taking my sweet Spike in to the vets for blood tests and x rays so we can see how he is doing thus far in his journey with Kidney failure and that nasty lump in his bladder. If you missed it, the sale is still going on through tomorrow, read post below to see details. I need to go put a few more items on my site today as it is looking lean thanks to Kj, Becky, Joss and M :-). Thank you ladies, I appreciate you so much. ♥
Must go now and get back to my painting...Have a Fabulous Sunday! XOXO

WOW!

These paintings were all done by one of my very favorite artists who lives here in New Mexico,
Alexandra Eldridge. I am going to Santa Fe next Monday and she has been kind enough to invite me to her studio! I am so excited. I can't tell you what it means to me, as she is the one who started me with the Venetian plaster. I read an article about her and her work with Venetian plaster, years ago and thought, what is this Venetian plaster? I was intrigued and thought I would try working with it. I went to all the hardware/paint stores in Taos. No one had it or had even heard of it! I thought, okay forget it, it is too hard to get hold of. That night I had a dream, an angel (I am not making this up) came to me and said "We hear you are giving up on the Venetian plaster" I said "Yes, it is too hard to get it around here" the angel said"We would rethink that if we were you". So I did (when an angel tells you something, you listen), I found it at Home Depot in Santa Fe and it changed my work and has become for me, profound.
So, you see what Alexandra means to me and how this coming visit is: WOW.
I just wanted to share. Click the links and see more of her wonderful, magical work. If I had the means I would fill my house with her paintings. Happy Monday! XOXO
