Yet, Another New painting

This one is small, 10"x 10" and the title is "Connecting Link"

venetian plaster, acrylic paint, pastel, graphite and varnish. Enlarge to really "see" it.

I have also been working on a large 47"x 47" and two small paintings. The big one is really different for me and I am not sure about it yet, it will likely take me a month or two before you

see that one finished.

I have had an exciting day so far, a mouse came in the open door and my mad Max caught it, killed it and ate it! And it was HUGE!!! Yuck is all I can say. He is very proud of himself :-).

Hopefully the rest of this glorious Sunday will be quiet and I will get much painting done.

Happy mouse less Sunday to you! xoxo

Wow Annie! This painting is gorgeous - it radiates so much glorious positive energy.

I hope the rest of your day is less traumatic, now that Max has a very full tummy (and exciting conquests to dream about!).

Angela, Thank you sweetie, Max is a very happy cat, I told him I was sorry for not appreciating him enough :-). xoxo

That painting is all action. As is the brave Sir Max, who slew the mousie. . . The Cat says hurrah and while I am grossed out, I always say hurrah, too!

kate P., That makes it an action painting :-).
I know I felt badly for yelling at Max to drop him and not eat him, but he only did what he is meant to do, so after it was all over I told him he was a good boy, a hero :-). xoxo

annie, have i seen large black areas like this before in your paintings?--a very dramatic and vibrant addition.

i've had mice in my house. but this one sounds large! did you witness the nefarious event, annie? :^)

i was about to say happy weekend until i realized it's sunday night! i am in another world lately!

Kj, I always have a little black, but I did more this time, I am glad you like it.
Yes,LARGE and yes, I was witness to some of the action, but after I knew I could not save the mouse I took my large painting outside to sand it, and by the time I came back in, it was all over with, thankfully.
The weekends fly!xoxo

I see a stronger energy in this one. It's so exciting to see each new one!

I love all critters and I also appreciate the circle of life. I thought you might enjoy this Abraham quote. Max certainly would! LOL!!

What is a bad thing anyway? A bad thing is something that is different than what I want. Who gets to decide what the bad thing is? Jerry and Esther watched the mother bird lay her eggs in the nest, and then the neighbor's cat ate the baby bird. Esther said "bad cat!" And the cat said, "good bird!"

Annie - these new paintings are so awesome. This one is really energetic - like it is going to jump off the canvas and start flying around the room. I LOVE the red. Lovely!! xo Pam

PS RIP Mousie.

I'm pleased the mouse was eaten and not just played with as they sometimes do.

Happy painting times Annie x
They're lovely.

LOL I only saw the painting and hadn't time to read so am not grossed out and won't go back to see why everyone else seems to be. The painting is wonderful. ;0

Oh, I love texture, and it's great in the plaster. Even without paint I could see so many images.
I really like the irregular application of plaster to canvas,,,,creates a lot of interest. Also the additional black. Another joyful, celebratory work, Annie!

Can't wait to see that big one, it's huge! Been a very long time since I worked large.
Mice,,,,ooooh, nasty!

What a fun painting. The words "whizz pop" and Willy Wonka/ Roald Dahl sprung to mind. Lovely!
