Raven's Dream

This is a new collage called Raven's Dream, I have started a new series and it will be ravens and wildlife, not sure what all I will be drawing, but probably rabbits and deer and all manner of bird. The back grounds satisfy my love of abstraction and the animals satisfy my love of animals and drawing. This piece is a 12" x 12", venetian plaster, oil, rust, tea, ink, graphite, paper  and cold wax on cradle board. This painting will be making it's way to my ETSY site in a day or so. If you click on a photo and then click on it again after it opens you get a great detailed view.

New Collage

Again I had trouble getting a great image, but I did my best, the tones are a bit warmer than you see here.
I included many closeups and if you double click on each image you get a clearer view. This one is a 12"x 12", Venetian plaster, teabag, paper, oil, acrylic, graphite, ink, cold wax, bone, feather and thread on cradle board. I left the sides raw as I liked it with this piece. Sometime I plaster and paint the sides and sometimes not. This one is called "The Gift" because that feather was a gift with other feathers from my bloggy friend Lori (Thanks dear Lori!). I am working on more collages and I am really having fun with these. Many more to follow.
*I decided to change the title, realizing what was really going on for me in this piece, I have retitled it "The Sacrifice".

Coyote (Animal Wednesday)

I took these photos of this very skinny coyote a couple weeks ago. I wish I had been closer and that he had
looked at the camera instead of away, but here he is. I have been spotting about one or two coyotes a month, The coyotes know I love them :-).

New Collage

I am painting again, or should I say I am working. I found it very hard to get a good photo of this collage, the second photo is closer, but none of them really get the true color which is pale pink and cream/yellow. Even with my light cube and photo shop I could not capture it. The detail gets all washed away, so I have included many close up shots and if you double click on the detail shot you will get a better idea of what is going on. Another day I will try for a better shot. I worked on this collage all weekend and had so much fun, trying so many different things before settling on this. I used a painting that I reworked and many drawing that I had done before I got sick, so basically I just had to put elements together until I found the ones that made me happy. This is a 20"x 20", Venetian plaster, oil, paper, ink, graphite, rust stained paper, stick, thread and cold wax on cradle board. I am thinking the title is "The Offering".
I have not done collage for years, so I am not very sure of my work, but I liked this and I hope you do too.
I am feeling the fire coming back and am starting a new piece today. I expect these collages to just get better as I get more confident.

Thank you all so much who gave me input and made comments on the new site, I appreciate you all so much.
Still no art being done, but I am cleaning and organizing my little art room, so at least I can see what I have and I think that may inspire me this weekend to do a bit of painting or drawing.

New Website

I let my old, dusty, unmanageable website go a while ago and I needed to build my own. I found a free site and have been working for the last two weeks to get it done. It still needs a little work and I need to add some paintings to it, but I wanted to show you and get some feedback about what you think of it.
