Sneak Peek

As some of you know who read this blog I have been working on two large projects for months now, this one should be done by January. I sewed 183 tea bags and here are a couple details. When I am done I will post here, but it will likely be after the Holidays. This Painting is only 40" x 40", but with my labor intensive  process that is large. I have dreams of doing 100"x 100" paintings, but would need help with that, someday it will happen.

New Tea Bag Collage

I actually completed this collage a few months ago, but never got around to showing you.
Small 12"x 9" tea bags sewn together and burned rice paper along with drawings and oil and graphite and cold wax.
I have been busy with life and also working on a huge project that may take up to a year to complete, will show you some sneak peeks when I get further along. I will also be working on paintings  while I go along, but it will be slower and I will likely have less to show for a while.
I always love to know your thoughts.

New Art Project

It has been a while. I hesitate to say that I am better because the last time I did all hell broke loose. At the end of my antibiotics I had a major allergic reaction and got very sick, it took me 2 weeks to recover, then the sinus infection came back, I think because my body was busy fighting the antibiotics, but now I have just a little sinus infection left, it is better everyday, treating it with natural remedies. I am getting caught up with my life, and back to art. While I was sick I started a project that I could do from bed, sewing tea and rusted teabags together, I am making a large wall hanging that will likely take all Winter, the photos are of teabags already rusted. This week I am also finishing a painting I was nearly done with before I got sick, there will be photos soon. It feels wonderful to be back to making art, I get very cranky when I go too long with out it.
I want to start the year with gratitude for wellness, and friends, family and art!
I hope you are all having a Happy New Year, I have missed you. XOXO

New Collage

Again I had trouble getting a great image, but I did my best, the tones are a bit warmer than you see here.
I included many closeups and if you double click on each image you get a clearer view. This one is a 12"x 12", Venetian plaster, teabag, paper, oil, acrylic, graphite, ink, cold wax, bone, feather and thread on cradle board. I left the sides raw as I liked it with this piece. Sometime I plaster and paint the sides and sometimes not. This one is called "The Gift" because that feather was a gift with other feathers from my bloggy friend Lori (Thanks dear Lori!). I am working on more collages and I am really having fun with these. Many more to follow.
*I decided to change the title, realizing what was really going on for me in this piece, I have retitled it "The Sacrifice".
I always love to hear your thoughts.
This image will be tumbled for all those tumblers out there who like it.
Have a great day. XOXO
