I finally finished one painting/collage for the show. I have worked the last 3 weeks on this piece. 18"x 18", venetian plaster, rice paper, oil, India ink, micro pen, graphite, handmade paper, thread, rust and tea stained paper, colored pencil, and cold wax on cradle board. I don't have a title yet, perhaps you could all help with that :-). I am doing another raven for the other painting, going to take a couple days off before starting it, I have lots of time as I started early on these for once. I have had fun doing them, but I can't wait to get back to my abstract work! Missing it a lot. I did many close ups of this piece because you just can't get the details without them. If you take the time to enlarge by clicking on the photo you will get even more detail.
I always love to hear your thoughts. XOXO
PS, This collage has been tumbled.

Judy, Thank you. xoxo
Love all the techniques you're using in this piece. I know it's a raven... but for one reason or another: "As the crow flies came on my mind".
oh my goodness, annie... oh. my. goodness.
xoxo
WOW. The texture is incredible and it's so cool that your photos were able to capture that!
Cerulean, Thank you! I won't be using that as a title, but I appreciate it. xoxo
Lynne, :-). xoxo
Kate P, Thank you sweetie! xoxo
Your detail work is brilliant. I can see the heavy textures. I know you love to build it up like that. I love this collage, I wish I had the means to buy it. The only name that struck me while looking at it, was "Waiting". Wishing you tons of luck with that show. This piece will go fast.
It is utterly fabulous Annie. "Anglo Saxon Song" springs to mind. The arch has Norman features and Odin had 2 ravens, so this piece is like the period between the pagan Vikings, and the Christian Normans. The Raven is still free no matter how convention tries to capture/frame it. It is the viewer who is truely captured, from an inside the building viewpoint. The Raven is free to fly off when it chooses. Utterly fabulous Annie.
This is just how the piece spoke to me. I'm sure everyone will have their own interpretation of this marvel. Congratulatory hugs!
Barbara, I think this may be the title, seems perfect. Thank you for the kind words. xoxo
Melanie, Thank you ! I love how you see it! This is a great title, but I am not sure everyone would get it :-).xoxo

Angela,
Thank you sweetie, I am tickled pink :-). xoxo
Love it Annie... the softness of the colours along with the dark is wonderful.
"Beauty" is a title that springs to mind from me.
I too am busy with painting and loving it... soothes my soul and allows me to be timeless when it's flowing.
Keep on loving art x x
Robyn,
Thank you sweetie. Making art is pretty much all I think about these days, even when I am sleeping I dream about making art. It keeps me sane and it does make the time stop.
You keep loving art too. xoxo
This is a truly gorgeous piece! The raven has a personality. He's so regal with just a touch of mischief and mystery. I love it!
Kelly, High praise coming from you. xoxo
Love this piece, Annie! Looking at the background colour I'm reminded of the sky at dawn. Then there is the sun motive.... so I was thinking Dawn Watch or Morning Watch.
Robyn,
Thank you! Lovely title, I now have several to choose from. xoxo

Suki, Thank you sweetie. xoxo
Annie, this piece is very beautiful, I love the black archway, your stitching and the contrasting darks and lights. I could just gaze at this forever...
