New Work, "The Passage of Time II"
Like the last painting (see post below) this piece has a lot of layers, you really need to see it in person to see them all, but I have included two close ups and a side view and if you enlarge you will get a better idea.
This one is a 12"x 12", venetian plaster, oil, India ink, and graphite on cradle board. Comments are much appreciated :-).
I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday!
XOXO

Hi Annie,
gosh you have busy... it seems i haven't been gone that long & i've missed so many posts! glad you are finding so much time to paint- that is awesome. i think the detail shows up nicely when you click on the images... always so much going on in them. love the colors in this one... & good to see the bees after talking to you about them! looks like your summer is off to a good start! i'm looking forward to the monsoons.... it has been getting quite warm in SF!
Wow you have been productive!
Lovely new paintings. I love the one with the bee!
And your garden looks so wonderful sunny and cosy :)
here it is raining cats and dogs :(
Have a wonderful week
It reminded me of a skyscrapper in construction. The layers work really well.
We have sun for once so I am making elderflower cordial. The champagne is bottled. :-) Blue sky and sun is so uplifting after weeks of grey rain.
Becky, I just paint a little everyday, it seems to work :-).
June is always hot here! I must say I look forward to the rain, but not the thunder(poor Bella)! How is the move going? Have a great week! xoxo
Marianne, great to see you, thank you. Send us some of that rain. You have a wonderful week too.xoxo
Melanie, Happy you have some sun, making your own cordial and champagne, you are a wonder.xoxo

This work certainly does speak to the passage of time.
Days, marked off in the tiny increments,,,, and larger 'blocks' of centuries, maybe?
All wrapped up in the feeling of primitive cave dweller drawings.
Very nice work Annie!
That blue makes my heart sing! Another gorgeous piece, Sweetie! xoxoxo
Kj, The red is funny isn't it :-).
Painting not only makes me happy it keeps me sane :-). xoxo
Babs, I am not sure what any of it means, I just have time on my mind and it seems to sneak out onto the paintings :-).xoxo
Angela, Thank you sweetie!xoxo
love the lines and the splotch of rust/red. delicious
The complex web of life passing by as the clock ticks.... it is up to us what we do with it. Am glad you are being creative. Cheers.
you're 'in' annie... and this is a lovely painting.
xoxo
I just LOVE your new art style!
I still love the heart on my upper level of our house...walk by it daily...but these are different and quite wonderful!
Wow, loving all the details! I'm so grateful to be able to zoom in and really see the marks and layers.
