Random thoughts...

It is Sunday! Yay! Of course I will be spending the day making all manner of clay items. Hopefully I will have some things to show soon. It is a lengthy process waiting for the things to dry then fire then glaze then fire again. I think it takes about 4-6 weeks total from start to finish. If I had my own kiln (sigh) it would go a bit faster. I dream of a huge studio with lots of light where I have my ceramics on one side and my painting and drawing on the other :-). I have been dreaming a lot lately, it is so good for the soul.
I watched a lovely film the other night called "Gigantic" and I am still reading "My Life in France" by Julia Child. Yesterday, I helped a friend unpack books and I found Julia's first cook book! How excited I was! I think having lots of interest in life and a passion for many things is the secret to happiness, don't you? What are you passionate about today? Happy Sunday! XOXO

Annie, How interesting - I checked out the film Gigantic from the library this weekend. I'd never heard of it before and now i'm looking forward to seeing it!

Your studio sounds fantastic. I see windows letting in beautiful light, wood floors, lots of space and a beautiful view outside to inspire and nourish you.

I'm passionate about clouds, animals, birds, oceans, trees, the stars and all things in nature.

Blissings in your delicious dreams, Annie.

Annie, your art studio dream sounds so great. I hope you find it one day. Maybe with a little sleeping eating loft too.

Hope you had fun y'day. Just saw "Julia and Julie" and loved it. I esp loved that both of them were so passionate about something, and that passion led them through life into one adventure after another. it made me cry actually.

Jan-Done :-). And thank you.
KJ-Yes, it was a lovely turn out.
Emom-That is okay, I will have one one day :-).
Suzanne-That is funny :-). I had never heard of it either(it is a wonderful film, but there is a little weird bit in there I did not like or understand and you will know what I mean after you have seen it, but overall it is a wonderful movie), your passions are mine too :-).
Suki-I felt the same way about the movie and the book "My Life in France" is the same way, Julia was a wonderful woman who followed her bliss, I am learning so much from her :-).

My mom used to have a kiln and sold it because she didn't have the guts to tell the neighborhood hippies to clean up the clay mess they left every time they let themselves into her studio to use her wheel and kiln. How sad is that? How about getting into raku and making your own kiln? We met a potter the other day who fires his raku pieces in a trash can.

Hi Kelly-That is sad :-). I like raku, but I am into painting the pieces and am leaning toward porcelain, so I really need a kiln, but also I will have to move into a much larger place. I have been turning my kitchen into a studio everyday :-).

Lucky the person who sees what they have and know that it is enough.

Life is sweet.

Love Renee xoxo

Renee-these are wise and true words
, but I still want a studio:-). However, I am happy in my kitchen just the same. xoxo

I've just woken up so I think my passion is having a coffee at the moment. LOL My next passion is to finish the things I have in progress so I can move on to new projects.
