Living the Painter's Life

I have been a bad blogger, but I have had a lot on my mind and I had a ton of jobs this week (yay), so I have been super busy. Mostly I just don't like to post when I am down. Every once in a while I get disappointed that I am not where I want to be in my art career, but then I remember why I do it (I love it) and I forget about the money part for a while. If I did it for the money I would have given it up a long, long time ago. The real deal is that to have a successful art career you need either a miracle (which does happen once in a while) or you need lots of money and time to market your work. So I continue to pray for a miracle. The sad part is that it really has very little to do with talent. There are so many talented artists that no one ever hears about. So, I am done feeling sorry for myself. I do have to find a way to make money doing other than what I am doing though, something more rewarding. I keep coming back to the life coaching thing and if I can come up with the money to take the course to be certified I am doing it. This will also require a small miracle. Since I have been working this week I have done no art, but I do have a painting I finished last week I will photograph and share soon. Today I am doing nothing, but resting up my body and soul. Have a wonderful weekend and please share with me what you are up to? XOXO

You can't ever be a bad blogger. It is what it is and that's the beauty of it--eh?

Glad you finished a painting and what an accomplishment--on top of work too. I'm glad you are feeling more hopeful.

Since you asked, here's what I'm up to: I'm hiding from the heat, checking out the blogs I follow, and drinking an iced coffee.

Later I plan to roast a whole chicken (that we grew ourselves) for dinner--with some grilled zucchini that a friend shared with us.

How well I know the feeling of being torn! My art is an aside in many ways, but still a hugely important part of my life. It heals me ore than any thing.
I wish the best for you in all your endeavors.

This comment deserves numbering!

1. A bad blogger is one who writes crap, not one who misses a few posts.

2. Please, do us all a favour and continue your policy of not writing when you're down (that's not being sarcastic, I have the same policy).

3. As you know I'm not much of an art expert (music is my main interest), but in this they are the same. It's not (solely) about talent. As with artists, there's a lot of very talented musicians who can't seem to make money from it, and there's a heap of mediocre ones who can.

What am I up to? Right now I'm just trying to keep warm.

Hi Annie,
I too kept seeing you at Suki and KJ's... I finally came over here this morning but was called away before I could explore. Now that I'm back, I went over to your art site and I'm liking your cone paintings. I'll be back.

What am I up to? Only a little painting today... right now house cleaning and listening to Lady Ga Ga. (chuckle)

No Annie, you have been a great blogger and we thank you for giving us snippets of your life. I know being an artist can be tough especially in stages like this, but do trust the universe..it will work out soon. I have been a bad blogger, I could hardly keep up with my postings and everyone's blog...too little time for everything...have a great week ahead/hugs.m

Hugs Annie, I hope you find the direction you need to go in and the means of getting there.

Blogging should be easy -going or else the pressure is there:( We can only put our thoughts and efforts together when the mood is right.
You're right - many undiscovered talents out there. In the meantime, art continues to flourish:)

I'm catching up on my blog reading and I just wanted you to know I always love coming here to read about what you're up to. I understand not wanting to blog when you're down. In fact, I pretty much withdraw from everything and everyone while I'm going through inner readjustments. A lot of people don't get that...but sometimes it's best to process things quietly.

I'm right there with you on the money thing. I'm just hanging on and hoping and praying that everything just drops into place. Every time I find myself pursuing something only for financial reasons, I also find myself struggling and feeling negative though. I think you life coaching idea is fantastic! Don't give up on it...the money will come somehow.
