I finally finished my large 40"x 40" collage. It saved my sanity this Summer. So much bad news and more coming, but this painting brought me so much joy and I think it is my best work to date. I included many close ups because as anyone who has seen my work in person will tell you the photos don't do them justice. This piece was too big for my light box, so I had to rely on natural light outside for the best shot. This is titled, "Hydra, Ode to Leonard Cohen" , mixed media, venetian plaster, oil, rust stained paper, thread, micro pen, graphite, cold wax on board.
In other news the show came and went, I was not able to take photos, sorry, they did not allow cameras inside. There were very few sold paintings and I did not sell my ravens. They are going to my ETSY shop for now if anyone is interested.
I always love to know your thoughts.
XOXO

OH the texture is magnificent! I would have loved to have seen pictures from the show but its very understandable why they wouldn't allow cameras.
my first thought - "oh wow" as usual. Keep your chin up!
WOW - Annie - this is so beautiful! Love the colors and textures. What a fun - and thoughtful piece. Full of surprises is right!

Lynne, Suzanne, Mim and Judy,
Thank you all so much for your beautiful comments and love and support. Means the world. xoxo
Wow Annie! I enlarged each image to see the amazing detail.... each image could be a painting. You've worked so hard! How lucky we are to have art to distract us from sadness.
Robyn, Yes, we are the most blessed.

gorgeous annie. i'm just in awe of your work.
Lori, What a dear thing to say. xoxo
as always, such wonderful textures and color. I wish I could buy a raven of yours. So much to catch up on financially :(
I hope your health is good. Love seeing where you and Bella hike...and so glad that you two worked it out ♥
xo
Lo
Lo, Thank you sweetie. Bella still has issues, but she now stays close by when we hike and that took a while :-). She is my best friend and I would not trade her for the world.

Beautiful work. I like the almost primitive simplicity of the shapes contrasting with the devious complexity of texture and decoration. The blues are fabulous. Sorry to hear that the show wasn't a success.
Melanie, Thank you sweetie. The show has never been a success for me, so I have decided this is the last year I will enter. xoxo
Dear Annie, wo this is a really big collage! I love the blues, and always your details... I hope things are calming down now and the world is a brighter place.

Thank you sweetie.xoxo
Annie, I think this is one of your best pieces (and that is saying something!). I LOVE IT. It has all the same things that I love in all your work: the texture, that sense of a hidden language, dimension, color. But this one feels like I'm looking at light coming through water. Beautiful work! I'm sorry you've having a rough time. I hope things turn around soon. Love & hugs - xo
Pam, Darling, thank you! This is meant to be the sea and sand and sky, so you got it just right.
xoxo
you've pulled me underwater with this one, annie, what a great feeling ! i love it!
i thought i left a comment already, so sorry for being late.
Kj, Thank you, and you are never late
