New Work
This is new work and a new process for me, I have never done anything like this so it pushes my comfort zone a bit. I combined my painting with my found rust and nature things I find hiking . This is a 8"x 8" cradle board, oil, venetian plaster, graphite and rusted wire, and a small antler. This piece will be in an upcoming miniature show at Millicent Rogers Museum In Taos next month. Double click to get a up close and personal view.
I always love to know your feelings.
A new year is upon us, I feel open to new possibilities and a renewed passion to my art. I also feel a lack of need to push things or control or make things happen.
Happy New Year! XOXO

Very scultpural. It conjures images of dry dusty landscapes and capture. Inescapability... and why you need the water of life and the ability to escape when necessary. Very moving piece Annie.
Melanie, Thank you for your insightful words. xoxo
There WAS life on Mars at one time. The red remains along with the odd relics.
Annie, my heart is pounding! LOVE your new direction. I can't wait for the exhibition to get feedback because I'm sure you've hit on that special "something" that will give you the boost you've been waiting for. Very exciting work!
Happy New Year!
Hi Annie! WOW! Okay, several things popped into my head while I was looking at this new piece. First was that I was looking down at a dry lake bed, somewhere in the desert. But then I thought about nets (even though this is wire, it seems net-like to me), and how they catch things. Sometimes nets save things, too. Safety nets. This is a strong net, the little piece of bone is being held up. I'm sure that made ALL sorts of sense - lol. I love this new piece. Wishing you a very happy new year, my friend! xox
Annie, :-), I believe it.xoxo
Robyn, this means a lot coming from you, thank you.xoxo
Pam, it makes a lot of sense! Thank you. xoxo
This is so ancient and primitive, as if the beginning of person kind. The antler is the sign of life, to me.
I wish you so much success in this show, Annie. I hope the feedback is as vibrant and insightful as it is here, among your friends and fans. Can't wait to hear xo

Hi Annie!
I quite like this new direction! Can't wait to see what comes next.:)
Happy New Year to you... I hope it is full of wonderous things!
I really like the incorporation of the antler and also the very simple way in which you attached it to the piece. The simplicity of it allows for its own power to come through. I like that.
j'aime l'approche de la peinture de cette façon...merci pour la visite...bonne semaine elf
