Snow Rabbit

Life's splendor forever lies in wait about each one of us in all its fullness, but veiled from view, deep down, invisible, far off. It is there, though, not hostile, not reluctant, not deaf. If you summon it by the right word, by its right name, it will come.

—Franz Kafka, October 18, 1921
From The Diaries of Franz Kafka 1910-1923

I found this little snow rabbit and wondered if nature made it or if man did :-).
I have been doing a lot of art and I have many bits and pieces I need to bring together, hopefully this weekend. So, for now I have nothing, but I leave you with this quote from Kafka. Have a wonderful weekend. XOXO

Sunday Bliss

Melting snow outside, me inside, warm and in jammies and books and DVDs on hand a large mug of hot cocoa spiked with Cayenne pepper, talking to friends and family. A full day of not having to work or do one darn thing. Just be. I have a few cards left to make out, but Christmas is mostly done. Now I can relax. Ahhh, BLISS! Wishing you the same this glorious Sunday afternoon. XOXO

Snow Day.

My trip to Santa Fe was to be today, but this is what I woke up to. Santa Fe is an hour and a half away and to get there from Taos you have to drive through the mountains or through a canyon and snow makes it dangerous and no fun.
The last two weeks I have been working 12 hour days between work and getting my photos ready, so today I get to do NOTHING! I am looking forward to eating, and reading and blogging and not much else besides taking my dog for a snow walk.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and please keep dear Renee in your thoughts and prayers.

Happy Easter!

No hunting Easter eggs in Taos today, it is snowing. I took this photo yesterday and there is a bit more on the ground today and it is still coming down. I told you it snowed in April :-).
I am comfy in bed reading a wonderful book called "The Painter from Shanghai" by Jennifer Cody Epstein. Very rich and textured. I have plans for a yummy breakfast and working on my book. I also have a beautiful bowl to glaze today. What are you up to? XOXO

More Oregon photos and random thoughts...

Oregon coast photos and a
Photo taken out in my mom's yard.

I took lots of photos of my family, but I don't feel I can share them. Just because I am putting myself out there on the web, does not mean they have to do it too. I definitely have a sinus infection, colds don't last this long, do they? I have been working and playing catch up with my life. I am dreaming every night about making art, and I am sure it is because I have not done art for weeks. I need to and this weekend will be set aside for just that and nothing else. I can't wait :-).
It finally quit snowing and I was able to go on a much needed run with my dog. It has been 2 weeks since our last one. It was so beautiful out there, sun gleaming on the snow, so bright you could not look at it. The air was full of sparkly crystals of snow, seemed magical. For all the trouble is causes, snow is worth it.
I am off to bed with a good book...XOXO

Contemplative

I took this picture today. It has been snowing non-stop. I love how everything gets so quiet when it snows. This is how I am feeling these days, quiet and contemplative, calm and accepting. Gearing up for when I leave next week to go home for the holidays, it will be a busy and fun time. What are you doing for Christmas (if you celebrate it) ? XOXO

Snow!

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning. It was a shock.
I always feel like it is Christmas when it snows. I love snow
even though I hate driving in it. It has all melted already
and all is clear today. The picture is so dark because it was
6 in the morning when I took it. I am off on a run so I have
to keep this post short. I will be posting photos of ornaments soon.
I finally have a few completed :-). Have a great Tuesday.
