Official Trailer for the movie Delirious

Movies and other things...

I loved this movie! It is sweet and sad and funny and just plain wonderful. Watch the trailer and you get a small clue. Michael Pitt is a Revelation to me, I had never heard of him (I know I live in a cave :-) before. He is a darling actor even if he is a youngster. Loved this movie, did I already say that :-)? Well I did :-). The last couple of days I had off I cleaned up my little yard and planted some flowers. Gardening is such a wonderful, life affirming thing, isn't it? I also worked with my clay and for the first time in many tries, I actually have something to show, well sort of, it is not done yet, but I have completed half a cup and it is standing :-). I hope to complete the last half tonight. It is taking me a long time to get the hang of this. I sure hope I can get a little faster :-), slow does not begin to cover it. I worked on that half a cup for 3 and a half hours and it is only about 3 and a half inches high, that is an hour an inch! Pray for me people :-). It is a good thing I love doing it or I would throw in the towel about now. Any workers in clay out there with any helpful tips would be welcome :-). I also had a new idea for my large painting I have been struggling with and I came up with the title of my book-"Trust Where you are"-copyright 2008. What do you think of the title? Any input would be appreciated. That is it for me today, hope you are all having a sparkling weekend. OXOXOX

Random thoughts

This is a poppy I photographed at work yesterday. I love
poppies a lot, but they don't bloom for long. Today I want
to share a few things. First I had an incident the other day
and it made me mad at a friend who did not do what I thought
he should do. After being mad all day I realized that I was being
really silly. I remembered to quit judging and to quit being offended
by what others do. If you wait until everyone thinks like you or
does what you think is right to be happy, you will wait a long,
long time. I let my anger and judgement go and I felt so much
better. Life is just too short to be offended and hurt, even if
you think you have a REAL reason to be hurt. Why make it
worse? Now on to really important topics. The smiley face.
I have noticed that I use them way too much. I think I counted
at least three in my last post and it was a short post. I am tempted
to use a smiley face right now, but I am not going to do it. I
feel I may be getting too old for things like smiley faces. Could
you all help me with this? Is there such a thing as too many?
Is a young 52, too old to use them? Also hugs, I fear I overuse
them in my comments to other people's posts. Are smiley faces
and hugs uncool, or immature? Should I be above caring if they are uncool?
On that note have a wonderful Thursday. Insert smiley face here, if you want to.

Painting

Here is the second painting I did concerning relationship.
Notice the word push up at the top? Can you take a guess at
what that is about :-)? This is my favorite painting that I
have ever done and it is not for sale. However, my mom
thought I should let you know all the other paintings I post
are for sale :-). If you are interested in them contact me for
prices. Not too worried about selling, though that would
be nice :-). I just like to share my work with you.
Have a wonderful, lovely, light Tuesday. OXOXOX

Cat video

I wanted to share this video with you. Cat lovers will laugh
out loud. I could not figure out how to get the actual video here,
but I have the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHXBL6bzAR4
It is a very funny video, but I do think you will all agree with me
that it is the ugliest house ever, or maybe it is just me :-).
If anyone would like to explain to me how to get a video
off you tube, please feel free :-). Hope all of you are having
a great Sunday.

Fun with clay

This great photo by Geraint Smith. Earth, clay. My life as it was has changed. I am now obsessed with clay. I would like to say that after my seven hour day working with it yesterday, that I had something to show. I do not :-). I did learn a lot about what not to do, however. I tried to do too much too soon. I used too much water and I did not get my coils even enough. Basically my bowl turned into a cup and then it caved in on itself :-). I should have taken a photo of it, but I did not think of it until now. It would have made you laugh, it did me. I think it will be a little while before my vision of what I wanted to create becomes reality. I am just fine with that :-). I am now ready to go slower, be more aware and take all the time I need. Good lessons to learn for all things. I had great fun too and I could have went for hours more, but my back and shoulder started to give me problems. Another reason to pace myself :-). I hope you are all having a terrific weekend.

Tidbits

Today I am just going to ramble a bit and you can come along
if you want to :-). Lately I have been having the most magical
things happening. Ever since I have been practicing going with
the flow and trying to stay in the moment I have been having
extraordinary experiences such as: Thinking I would call a
friend about getting together and every time I think I'll call
I get a feeling not to call, then within minutes or a few hours
that very person calls me with the same idea. This has actually
saved me a little time and it feels as if the Universe is arranging
itself around me. Other things like that keep happening and it
appears I have to do very little to make things happen. Sweet.
In other news I am getting little snippets for my book. I feel I
am becoming more inspired to finish it. But first the clay. I have
had no time all week to work on it, but tomorrow I do and I
can't wait! I have reserved the whole day to play with clay.
I plan on not even getting out of my pj's all day. I may comb
my hair and brush my teeth, but little else besides play :-).
I am hoping to have something to show you soon.
I think that is it for today. Have a lovely Thursday.

Paintings

A friend suggested that I start putting photos of my paintings
on my blog, just in case people were not going to my website.
I thought that was a good idea, so here is one of the first paintings
I did that was abstract in nature. The color is a little dark, and
my photo taking needs a bit of work, but you get the idea. This painting is about my relationship with one who will remain nameless. The title is "Desire" and it is a fairly large painting, 47"x47", mixed media on board.
I hope you enjoy it. Lovely Sunday everyone.

Happy Saturday

This lovely photo is by Geraint Smith who is having a group
show tonight and I would like to wish him the very best. I will
be going to the show after work tonight. I have 3 shows to go to,
so it will be a busy evening. I picked this photo because as I was
driving this morning to my running spot, a beautiful bird flew past
and the electric blue color of his body made me stop and moved me to tears. I don't know why, it was just so wonderful.
I believe it had to be one of these little guys. I have exciting news.
Well, it is exciting to me, it may put all of you to sleep :-). I bought
a 50 pound box of clay and all the tools I will need to start making
pottery. I can't believe I am finally doing it. I have been wanting
to get my hands into clay since high school and here it is 36 years
later! Too long. However, I do believe it is the most perfect time.
I will post photos later when I get something to show. I hope you
are all having a fantastic weekend. Do something today that you
have always wanted to do, don't wait.

Where is everyone?

I don't know, but I think everyone is on twitter or
facebook, or somewhere, not here. I know people
are busy, I am hardly here myself :-). Do other
people get worried when their readership goes
down? Is it only me? It is true I tend to want more.
Always more. More readers, more comments, more,
more and more :-). I think it is because I am a bit obsessive.
Not a lot obsessive, just a bit, so don't get worried :-).
Other things I want;
To see the ocean, soon.
To love and be loved.
More money.
I want to go to Paris, London, Africa and Alaska, and I want to
go this minute :-).
To finish my book and get it published.
To be able to quit my job.
To buy a house.
To be 10 pounds thinner.
To run faster.
Okay enough of that, just had to get it out of my
system. Oh, I also want my family, friends and
animals to live forever :-). Also world peace.
Now I really am done. Oh, I forgot-free health care
for all!
Hope you all are having a great week wherever you are :-).

My rambling mind...

I wish this was me right now. I miss the ocean and the beach so much I could scream. That is the only thing about living where I do, no ocean, no beach :-(. This beautiful photo was taken by Geraint Smith. A lot is going on in my brain right now, so for this post I am just going to ramble a while. First, a wonderful thing happened. Saturday I went to a friend's house and while there I met a man and woman who where also visiting. He is a retired veterinarian. I told him about my cat Mr.B and he offered to come over and look at him. He also asked to see Mr.B's blood workup I'd had done, so I had it faxed over to me. It took him two minutes to figure out what was wrong. His kidney's. They are just a little off, but he is losing weight so as not to make them work so hard. His weight loss is a good thing :-). He told me to get him some KD and to actually feed him (and my other porky boys) less, not more. So the food bowls are put away and my cat kids are really mad at me right now. I don't know how my vet missed this, but I am very disappointed in her for doing so. Mr.B has just bought about four more years and I could not be happier :-). Mystery solved. I felt so blessed last night after I heard this news. I felt like an angel had sent this man out of nowhere to help me. Life truly is magical. In other news I have had an inspiration to work in clay and make some pottery. I will do this in all my spare time :-). I am very excited to translate what I do in painting to clay. I will have to take the finished pieces to a woman in town to fire it for me, but that is very doable and she does not charge a huge fee. I can also do glazes there. Learning something new, I have always wanted to do, it is the best :-). I will start out with a bowl and plate and cup for myself and if they turn out I may start offering some of the pieces to you :-). I am going to attempt to get the clay in the next couple of days. I will let you know what happens. That's it for today. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Happy Mother's Day

All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother. ~Abraham Lincoln
Happy mother's day to my mom and to all the moms who read my blog, and
to all the moms to be(dagny are you listening :-). Mom, I love you. wish I
could be with you today.

Happy Saturday

Photo by Geraint Smith. Poem by Mary Oliver:

Mornings at Blackwater

For years, every morning, I drank

from Blackwater Pond.

It was flavored with oak leaves and also, no doubt,

the feet of ducks.

And always it assuaged me

from the dry bowl of the very far past.

What I want to say is

that the past is the past,

and the present is what your life is,

and you are capable

of choosing what will be,

darling citizen.

So come to the pond,

or the river of your imagination,

or the harbor of your longing,

and put your lips to the world.

And live

your life.

Max=Trouble

This is Max the little trouble maker. He is really darling
and I adore him, but apparently Mr.B does not. I do see
a difference in Mr. B, his eyes are brighter and his fur
looks better. He seems to be bouncing around more. Could
I be making this all up-yes, but I don't think I am. I will
admit I believe in a lot of new age stuff, but I am also a skeptic.
I don't just believe something because someone says it is
so. I have to find out for myself. Then if something works for
me, I use it, if not I don't. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, read the
past 5 or so posts. Have a wonderful Friday. OXOX

Healer Guy

Well, the healer guy has come and gone. It is way
to soon to tell, but I feel like something did happen.
Something shifted. He said part of the problem was
that I brought Max into the house almost two years
ago and he picks on Mr.B. I already knew that it
was a problem, but I had no idea it was causing
Mr.B to get sick. Anyway I am going to watch Mr.B
for any difference and I will let you know if I see any.
He also did a bit of work on me :-), he said my left
and right brains were out of balance, I knew that :-).
I feel a little light headed now :-). Have a great Thursday
evening.

Even more Spring

Blogger messed up and put yesterday's post under Tuesday's
post and labeled it a Saturday post :-) and it did not publish the
pictures. So to confuse everyone Mr.B gets worked on today
by the healer guy. I will post an update tonight. For now I have
to run as my dog Zeus is going to the vet for his check up.
Have a great Thursday.

Pictures of Spring

I took these photos at work today, I love this tree :-).
I am a bit zonked out and though I have things to tell
you about, it will have to wait another day. I have more
photos to share tomorrow too. OXOXOX

More Spring

It is pouring rain today, but I guess that is part of Spring too.
We actually need it and it smells so good :-). These are more
photos I took of the yard at work yesterday.
On my mind today is my cat Mr.B. The other day I heard a
story about an amazing healing this woman in town had. I
heard it second hand, but my friend J heard it firsthand
from the woman herself. The story goes like this:
This woman had horrible pain in her hands for years. The
doctors had not been able to help her and told her she needed
surgery. She was at work in a local coffee bar when a man
stood looking at her and told her "I can help you with your
hands". She freaked a little, but figured she would go along
with it. He held her hands for a few seconds and then her
pain was gone! All gone. And it has not come back. When the
woman told my friend the story, he asked who the man was.
I won't say his name here, but it is a man both my friend and I
know. We went to Quantum healing classes with him (more
about that another day). I called this guy up (we will call him
the "Healing Guy")last night and he is coming over tomorrow
to work on Mr. B. He has never done a cat before, but he is
willing to try :-). Please keep all toes and fingers crossed this
will work. If it doesn't at least I gave Mr.B every chance :-).
Have a great Wednesday.

Moments in time.

I captured this rare photo of all four of my boys at once!
This never happens :-).
I wanted to share with all of you something I read in "The
New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, just in case you are not
reading it (isn't everyone reading it? :-). He talks about
how to know what your purpose in life is and he says that
your purpose is whatever you happen to be doing in this
moment. So if you are reading a book, that is your purpose.
If you are driving your car, that is your purpose. This little
bit of information has helped me so much in living in the now.
I remember to ask myself what my purpose is and it pulls
me right into this moment. It is a great tool. There is more
to it of course, but this little bit has proved very helpful to
me and I thought you might find it useful too. Have a
magical Monday :-).

More random

This darling photo by Geraint Smith. I have made a decision
about Mr. B, I won't let them cut him open, no way. I don't
think it will help and I think it will finish him off. I will do what
I can to make him happy until he decides to check out for good.
I have also been thinking about fear. I have this huge desire to paint
and write full time. I see that time is short and our days are numbered.
I want to live my life doing what I love. Still I have rent to pay and
animals to care for. I have been thinking about giving up at least one day
of work every other week to start this process, but even that is super
scary cause it would be about 200 less a month. I would have to trust
the Universe to provide. Why is that so hard? I know I can't go on
like this much longer, my heart tells me daily this is what I am
to do. What would you all do? Have a wonderful Saturday everyone :-).

Update on Mr. B the cat not the man.

Little Mr. B asleep in my messy bed. He had his vet appointment
today and his weigh in. I have been feeding him extra food for
the last couple of months and still he lost 5 ounces :-(. Also his
paw is infected. I am not concerned about the paw. That
will be fine, it is the continued weight loss. We have a few
supplements to try, but if they don't work the next step is
cutting him open. I can't make that decision yet. Send some love
and good thoughts his way will you. I will work on being at peace
with whatever happens down the road. OXOXOX.

New paintings

As promised here are photos of the two new little paintings.
The color is not perfect, but you get the idea. I do not like

these as much as the slightly bigger ones I did last and posted
here before the show. For what I am doing I need a bigger surface,
but the little 4"x4"'s were fun to do and I can sell them for cheaper
than the others. It was worth a try. I won't be doing anymore this
size. I have a big 47"x47" board waiting for me to finish and I will
either do that next or work on the book. Today I am doing nothing.
I should be cleaning, but I feel to read the day away and that is
what I will do :-). I am reading "No Country for Old Men", since
I loved the movie, I had to read the book and so far it is exactly
like the movie. I hope you all have a lovely Thurday and that
you are all doing exactly what you want to be doing too.
