Sunflowers

I am still in painting heaven and I've been working, but the minute I get home I paint. I wanted to peek in and say hi and share these photos I took the other day on the way to the place I run. The magical sunflowers line the roads around here in the Summer and they cheer everyone who sees them. Happy Friday! XOXO

Rain

In the afternoons it has been pouring rain and thundering here, it does it every July and it cools everything off. I love it. I tried to take a photo of it so you could see how hard it was raining yesterday. I have not been able to visit many of you lately because when it storms I have to turn off my computer and unplug the phone line as Willowtree has told me a surge can ruin your computer and I believe him :-). Also I have been painting every evening, I am really on fire and I have had another turning point. The painting I am finishing up this week is a little master piece and I am so happy :-). I will photograph and post the two new pieces soon as I should finish this week. I will come say hi when I can. Love you. XOXO

These are the paintings I finished last week. The top one is "Joy of Spinning #2" 12"x 16" and the bottom one is "Star" 6"x 6". That is all for today as I have more paintings in the works that are waiting for me, so duty and bliss calls :-). Let me know what you think of these. Happy Monday!

i thank you God for most this amazing

and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything

day of life and of love and wings: and of gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

Award Sweetness

I received this wonderful award from the lovely Diantha a week ago, I am just now getting to it, thank you Diantha. How sweet it is to receive these awards of appreciation. I give this award to each and everyone of you, you all deserve it, so take it :-).

I have the next 3 days off and I am blissed out about it. I can catch up on housework (boring, but needed), I can start new paintings and photograph the two I finished last week. I get to post more and play and nap :-). And run. Did I already say play and paint?:-) (isn't it the same thing? :-). But tonight I am tired and I need to relax and do absolutely nothing at all. Happy Thursday evening! XOXO

NOW

Time for a cat photo. This is Max, sleeping in the sun. I have the day off and a long list of things to do. I will attempt to get some painting done as well. I need to focus on the now instead of letting myself get overwhelmed. It seems it is harder in the Summer as there is always more to do. Yet, I know that everything is under control and really it is only my silly mind that gets carried away. So that is my spiritual practice today, and everyday-Stay in the MOMENT!That is my advice to you as well :-). Have a wonderful Tuesday! XOXO

New Blog

This is "Push"(click on image to make it larger), it will be the painting for the ad, I have posted this painting before, but now with the excellent photograph taken by my friend L, you probably won't recognize it :-). Because my website has all my old photos on it and I no longer have contact with the man who did my website, I have created a new blog with my paintings: http://anniesartblog.blogspot.com/. I will be posting new paintings often as the photos are done. I have a question for all of you blogger wonders, how do I delete a blog? I created another art blog, but the name was too close to the website and the website kept coming up on my google search, so I need to get rid of it. I would appreciate any help. Now that the ad is done I have a little time this weekend to paint and catch up on some of your blogs. Happy Weekend! And thank you for all your very sweet comments on the last two posts :-). XOXO

Wonderful News

I have a very dear friend who I used to work for, she has some money and when she heard I was having photos done of my work (at long last), she offered to pay for an ad in THE magazine. We have to scramble to get the ad done by Monday, but we will make it. August is the best issue to be in, it will be a lot of exposure. This could not happen at a better time and I am feeling so blessed to have friends like L for taking the photos and friends like K for buying this ad for me.
Because of the crunch to get the ad done, I may get behind posting and visiting. Love you.
XOXO

More Awards!

Wow. I said a girl can't have too many awards, but this is crazy :-). I received this lovely Stroke of the Brush award from the wonderful, talented KJ. She is the Creator of the award as well.
I received the Queen of Alll Things award from the beautiful and talented Erin Davis. Both of these women are great writers and poets. I feel very flattered to receive these awards, thank you ladies. I am to tell you 7 awesome things about myself for the queen award.
This is sort of hard :-).
1. I love beetles, all kinds and for about a year I painted paintings of them.
2. I have dreams that come true, all the time, usually they are silly and have no real use :-).
3. I make friends easily and I tend to keep most of them for life.
4. I love all animals and if I had a bunch of money I would probably have a lot more cats and dogs, plus a few other species.
5. I have great faith in spirit.
6. I love to learn new things, all the time, it is one of my greatest joys.
7. When I read, which is often, I read slowly and savor each word. I think speed readers miss a lot, they don't think they do, but judging by some of the responses to my emails I receive by speed reader friends, I know they do.
Okay, now I am to name 7 bloggers to receive this award:
Yoli
Sorry, Yoli, I could not get your link to work.
And the Stroke of the Brush award goes to:
Sorry I am so absent. I have had some work and my friend L and I have been taking photos of all my paintings. He is a great photographer and this is a wonderful thing he has done for me. We are doing a trade for the work. Here in Taos doing trades is a common way of doing business, thank God for that :-). In the next week I will have some down time and will attempt to come here and post a bit more often. Happy Tuesday! XOXO

Random thoughts and updates

Blissful Saturday. Home from an early run and after a yummy breakfast I am going to do a bit of painting. I started two new paintings yesterday and so far I like them a lot. Later I am going to an art show to be social then back home for more painting. I have been working a lot and when I do that the art suffers, so it feels good to be back into the swing of it. Bliss and joy abound.
An update on my mom: She is home and slowly getting better, she can walk, but it hurts, so she is using a wheelchair and walker to get around. Her goal is to be able to travel and come see me in 4 or 5 weeks.
Update on my cousin R: He is the bravest person I know. He is traveling and living his life to the fullest and if you talked to him you would never know he has cancer. According to the doctors, he has 6 months to live, but you just can't know for sure.
Have a most wonderful weekend, do fun stuff, okay. Tell me what's new? XOXO

Award Time!

I received this lovely award from the very interesting and talented Whitmist(Joey) and I am to tell you six roles that I play, so here goes:
1. Artist-I identify way to much with this role, but is is who I am most of the time.
2. Friend-This is a role that I love, because I love my friends, including all my blogging friends.
3. Spiritual seeker-This is who I am in a way, but I am really that which has already found :-).
4. Caretaker-I am good at taking care of things, people, animals, plants and houses.
5. Blogger-What a strange role that is :-). I didn't even know it existed 3 years ago.
6. Lover-That is what I try to be and I succeed about 75% of the time :-).
Now, I am to give this award to another blogger. I love you all, but this award goes to: Starlene.
She is very wonderful, check her out. Happy Thursday! XOXO

Animal Wednesday

Many of my blogging friends do a thing called Animal Wednesday, I thought I would join in for today. This is my wonderful dog Zeus. I don't know if you can tell, but he is actually smiling with glee in this photo. We are off on a run before it gets boiling out. Have a grand Wednesday! XOXO

Winds of change

I am not sure what is happening to me, well I am, but I can't really explain it, but what it means it that I am in a state of joy like you can't believe. I have so much energy and things are flowing in such a sweet way that I just could not hold it in and had to share. I also feel a new body of painting work coming, something fresh and different for me, not sure what it is yet, but I feel it forming around this new found happiness. I have opened the door to my spirit and finally it is free. How did I do that? Can't really tell you how, I just opened the door, the door we all keep shut out of fear or disbelief. If you really want to know what I am talking about go get Jan Frazier's book, at this link: http://www.janfrazierteachings.com/blog/, she can't tell you how to get this joy either, but she explains it a whole lot better than me. All those that are totally confused, sorry, this is my blog and I am allowed to be confusing :-). Happy Saturday! What are you up to today? I always want to know. XOXO

Yes!

"Every Moment is the whole world"-Jan frazier
Today, I say yes to watching the birds outside my window eat the food I lovingly provide for them. I say yes to hugging my sweet dog and kissing my darling cats. I say yes to getting a big chunk of clay out and turning my kitchen into a studio for ceramics. I say yes to a mid afternoon nap. This day is simple, some days are not, but I am thankful for this moment right now.
What do you say yes to, today? Happy Wednesday. XOXO
