Random Thoughts

I thought I would check in with a little quickie.
It has been a busy week with work, kitty nursing and Christmas stuff. I think it may get a bit more relaxed the next couple weeks. I am looking forward to doing some art. The cats are still holding. B is still way too thin and Spike does not seem as good as new, but they are doing okay for the most part. We take it a day at a time.
This week I had a huge disappointment. Obama has been my hero and I really believed in him, but after this week and the whole health care fiasco I fear he has abandoned us. I am now totally disgusted with politics and may never vote again. Really disheartened. What do you all think?
On a happy note I saw a wonderful movie, "The Fantastic Mr. Fox", I loved it. The animation was grand and I laughed a lot, something I needed to do.
Attempting to keep my thoughts positive and looking for things that make me joyful, and doing more of them :-).
I hope you are all having a great week. XOXO

I remember the first time I felt the way you do now....my guess I might have even been your age....truth is....politics never changes...(read Aristotle or Plato)
Politicians never change...it's ok, there are forces that are more powerful, like love, kindness, compassion...tolerance..it's ok, feel the way you do..but make sure to let it go at some point... (it tends to complicate creativity) smiles.

interesting comment from emom. she is so right and i love the way she said everything.

i'm disgusted with congress. how did george bush bully his way through invading a country and all those tax cuts and the dems can't seem to get universal health care in play? damn it!

you sound good. i'm glad.

ps hello robin!

Glad everything is working for the cats.
I keep hoping that something big will come of the Stockholm Climate meeting and that I shouldn't be cynical.

I love the book Fantastic Mr Fox. I read it to the children a lot so they were used to squealing "Boggus' Chicken House Number 1" :-) Happy memories. Roald Dahl was such a wonderful author.

Despite all on your plate, despite all that is happening in the world, I hope that you will keep "sniffing out joy," as singer Buffy Saint Marie sang. "You have to keep your nose to the joy trail." xo to you and kitties

glad you are trying to see the positive. as for politics I agree w/emom. I rarely vote actually as I have the kind of grouchy idea that it doesnt matter that much who is in office, there are things that those guys must do regardless of left or right. They've been talking abt health care reform for years and so far this is the furthest it's gotten I think. Anyway I am not disappointed as i just don't look on one man, esp a politician, with any stars in my eyes or via rose colored glasses. In other words I dont have expectations.

Emom and Suki and Kj-I agree, but part of the reason I am so disappointed is that I felt like you two before Obama, he made me believe again.
Renee,Melanie and Dawn- I hear the movie is not as good as the book, but I say go see this film :-).
Jan-I am sniffing it out and even finding some :-).

There are so many shadows in politics, the unspoken fears of the world and in ourselves. Perhaps all we can do is continue to inspire a little at a time, and a politician catches on...
