The Gift

It is almost Sunday(my favorite day) and today I found an artist who I fell in love with right away. I love her art and I love her spirit. I thought I would give you all a gift and share her with you. Her name is Swoon.

Here is a quote from Swoon:“You start to build something like these boats, and you can’t believe it yourself, but enthusiasm has a way of sparking other people,” she says. “What this project has shown me is that there is no place for pessimistic disbelief in the world; it’s just not useful. Once you’ve decided to be on the side of audacious wonder, beauty, and joy, you can’t go back.”

Plus, Happy Birthday Renee! Wherever you are.

Happy Sunday! XOXO

It looks like something from the film Waterworld. Little bits of flotsam and jetsom gathered together to make a harmonious whole- like life really.

Interesting artist. Freegan sounds like the SF diggers.

Melanie "beat me" with the "Waterworld" comment.....looks just like the some of the sets...

Thank you for mentioning that today is Renee's birthday -
I didn't know her special day - but I blew a kiss to the sky for her.

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

p.s. my word verification is: FINEST.... a good one to remember for us all.

Melanie, Suki and Robin-I hope you all read the story(there are more pictures of the boats too)and also watched the video, it deals with her other work which is very inspiring. And Suki-in a way I was a SF digger, when I lived there I went dumpster diving a lot for furniture :-). xoxo

Oh Anne this is magical! Thank you for sharing her! As to Renee, I did not know it was her birthday, so I also send her kisses in the wind.

Hello, dear Annie! Thank you, thank you, for your sweet comment. I'm glad you stopped by again, because I never saw your first comment. Blogger has been messing with me too. I couldn't even sign into my blog for quite a while, and it's been eating my comments on some blogs, too. Grrrr.

I'll be back when I have a bit more time to check out the wonderful links you mention here.

I love you, too, dear friend.
Hugs and love,
xoxoxo

I didn't even notice the artists on the boat/barge till I clicked on the photo source.

Way Cool (for lack of better word). I especially like the part of 'no turning back' in her quote:)

interesting...see, there is something for everyone out there, even if it's not my cup of tea, I'm ok with that...trying to be less judgemental

You were so right. I love her! I love in that video how she said 'I just KNOW that in 6 months it will all make sense'. And then it did. : ) Thank you.
