TREE LOVE

About a year ago I read on a blog about a thing called a tree wrap, this blogger who I cannot remember the name of (so sorry) made hers with leather. I thought it was a wonderful idea and months later on a hike I rounded a corner and this great tree inspired me to make it a tree wrap. I made mine with raw canvas, some tea and rust drawings, bone, feather, rock, shell and gold thread. I took it out with a friend and wrapped the tree just as a big snow storm was coming in last weekend. I think it will be a nice surprise to hikers and I hope the tree liked it :-).
Have a wonderful weekend.
XOXO

Trees are friends too. I know it sounds odd but they are so solid and I find their presence re-assuring somehow. We have the most beautiful copper beech in the back yard and I can't help but touch it every time I pass. It is my friend. I think a wrap is a great idea Annie and I love the look of what you've made there. Quite inspiring. xx Jos

this is so cool. you know your little collages remind me of the prayer flag like things i made and inspire me to want to make more. mine were mostly of paper with glued on shells and the like.

on cape cod, on Morris Island, there is a tree where people leave little tied on things. i forget just what, but it is so neat to come upon.

I too would be captivated by your tree wrap if I came across it while walking. A lovely thought!

This is so wonderful. Coming across this tree will be a reminder of the human spirit: a reminder of community. Even the trees know....

I thinking about putting a poetry box on my fence until the end of the year: the gift of a poem to anyone passing by.

Which is what you've done, Annie

Oh, I LOVE this! And I am sure the tree did, too! They give so much without a single thought of anything in return. I think you made the forest smile. :)
