New Work

The first two photos are close ups and this last one above is the total painting. You can also click on the image to enlarge.

This should be called a drawing because that is what is; venetian plaster and oil and graphite on cradle board, 10"x 10" "The other". I had to take this photo outside, my light cube and any artificial light makes the graphite glare. I have another painting finished, but could not get a good image yet due to all the glare, I will give it another go tomorrow. I am very excited about these new works, drawing is my first love and I have finally found a way to get the feel of a drawing onto a painting. I am on my third piece today and will start a large 40"x 40" tomorrow. This painting will not be for sale yet as it is part of a big project I will tell you about as I get closer to completing it.

I always love your thoughts.

Also I am having a give away, I will pick the winner tomorrow evening and alert them Sunday. The give away is a surprise, I will tailor it to the winner. Just leave a comment here or in the previous post to enter.

Happy Friday the 13Th! Always a lucky day for me :-). XOXO

Trying new things is working for you Annie, this is a very interesting turn you've taken.
I always like graphite or charcoal in a painting.

Friday the 13th is a lucky day for me too. When I was married. Many, many moons ago.

I like this painting. It is like a footprint in the vortex of time. I will now be away Annie for several weeks. Wish you the best.

Your new work is more mysterious/ ambiguous, and makes me engage with it like a puzzle. The colours are more earthy and somber than the fun feel of your older works. I am intriegued. :-)

I love the feel of this painting - wish I could stand in front of it - there's an intrigue - mystery that draws you in - but what's so wonderful - is it also feels warm - restful. What a great balance - beautiful work!

The thumbnail pic in my sidebar got my attention. It feels like I'm looking at ancient petroglyphs on a massive slab of weathered rock. Very mysterious!

Everyone,It seems that mystery and intrigue
sum up my new way, not on purpose, I just do what I am told by my muse, who guides the ship :-).
Thank you all for your lovely comments.
Lubna, Take care and big hugs. xoxo

WOW the colours are spectacular. I do so love red, it speaks of fire and love and danger and safety and all the things that wriggle and squiggle inside me. Love this!

Oooh, I first thought of a pomegranate, then in the last photo, it looked like a close-up of someone screaming. Very powerful stuff, Annie! xox
