Max the Hero Cat

This is Max and he is a sort of hero around here and also a killer. We had a mouse come in yesterday and he ate him (or her). I do feel sorry for the poor mouse, but I am also happy that Max deals with it for me, so I am a bit torn about rather Max is a good or bad kitty :-).
I have been busy making and glazing ceramics and will have more to show in a week or so.
The jobs come and they go, I am learning to trust where ever I am at the moment. It is a hard lesson to learn, but I am learning it. What are you learning today? Happy Tuesday! XOXO

Annie I go from day to day and sometimes I feel like I learn absolutely nothing.

I am going in about 20 minutes to meet with Jacquie's oncologist to get her chemo regiment down. Hopefully I won't be there forever, my bones are aching.

blah blah blah.

Love Renee xoxo

Today I think I ought to have learned not to over do it. LOL Loads of cutting and some sewing so definate progress, but my shoulders ache.

Max does look handsome. I think he ought to be a hero as he's obeying his nature.

Max is protecting you! It is HIS job. Glad we do not have to resort to other means!

The new blog background is awesome. My cats are too old to catch mice though they did when younger. Mice are a problem that is hard to solve. I used to think that just the presence of a killer would keep the mice away after the first few deaths, but maybe i was just pretending.

I'm with everyone -- I love your new blog background. And I love what you are learning! I'm learning I'm provided for in unexpected and delightful ways.

Actually I love cats and mice both and think Max and the mouse are both in alignment. It reminded me of an Abe quote about cats and birds:

What is a bad thing anyway? A bad thing is something that is different than what I want. Who gets to decide what the bad thing is? Jerry and Esther watched the mother bird lay her eggs in the nest, and then the neighbor's cat ate the baby bird. Esther said "bad cat!" And the cat said, "good bird!"

Sounds like Max does what he needs to instinctively. I'm so glad you are trying to trust the moment. So am I!

Learning to be with feelings that my body/mind says it does not like. Pre-period stuff which makes me feel tired, lightheaded. A tug of war goes on about doing and being; getting things done and just resting. Like Renee, blah, blah, blah. Gotta love this mind of ours.

Congrats to Max, he must feel very proud today, taking good care of his owners and space by doing what he does naturally. :-) Yes, feel sorry for the mouse....

The quote in the right column reminds me of one by Rumi, Annie: "Keep looking at the bandaged place. That is where the light enters you."

He is definitely good! He's doing what cats are supposed to do.

Okay, you are all correct, Max is a hero :-). xoxo

Max is so handsome!

Cats gotta hunt, we gotta say, "Thank you." Even as we are grossed out simultaneously.

You have yourself a good mouser! In my house, I have to admit I would try to prevent him from killing the mouse. But in your case, it sounds like he is one very good kitty who does a great job! He looks rather proud, too.

He is stately and proud, that Max. Such a handsome brown mackerel tabby he is. Did you know that his pattern is called mackerel because the stripes on his sides look like fishbones, and that the name Tabby comes from Persian rugs from the town of Tabriz, as they were striped? Just some cat trivia from the crazy cat lady...

ps: remember to deworm him regularly if he eats what he hunts...
