This meme came from melanie:
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your Summer.
well, first, I must tell you what I listen to the most is silence. Sounds weird to most of you, I know.
The thing is, I lived, ate, and breathed rock and roll until I was in my late thirties and I can
hardly listen to it anymore. Oh, I still listen to my old favorites from time to time, but mostly
I just have silence playing in the background and birdsong :-). However, there are a few songs
that have meant something to me this week.
One is "London Calling" by the Clash. They were one of my favorite bands. Last night I
rented "The Future is Unwritten" the Joe Strummer story. I did not really like the film that much, but loved seeing Joe sing his heart out and "London Calling" has been going on in my head
all day. The other song was also from a movie I saw last week called "CharlieBartlett". The film was just okay, but they kept singing a song and I have no idea what it is called: it has lyrics that go
, If you feel high, feel high, if you feel low, feel low...Any of you older people know this song?
It is driving me crazy :-). Anyway, that is it for me, sorry I can't do seven. If you feel to play, tag yourself and say I did it :-). P.S. Have you noticed I don't play by the rules? :-).

The last song on the soundtrack is "If you want to sing out, sing out" by Cat Stevens, performed by Kat Dennings. Yes?

Thank you kikipotamus!!!I knew I knew it and I always loved Cat! Of course it was his song :-).
Maryem- I know what you mean, but as hard as I try I always go back to silence.

Hia Annie thanks for that. I keep trying for a balance between silence and background noise. I get used to so many sounds- like the TV on while I sew, tunes from mobile phones, or a radio on when I'm in another room, cars going by, builder's noise, neighbours music, even a radio play on the computer. Sometimes it's lovely just to put a song on and really listen to it with eyes closed. I do worry that as the planet gets more crowded that there are less places where you can go and just hear nature.

I am quite partial to silence. In the car i sometimes like to play CD's but I bought a used Bob Dylan cd recently, i used to love him, and most of the songs hurt my ears I must say. How things change.

I love all 80's and 90's music..my era. I re-read this post many times! What do you mean 'in your late thirties'?? I really thought you looked like in your early twenties, like many thought the profile picture was me..but actually it was my then 9 years old daughter hahaaha... I think I remember this London Calling song, its a dance number right?

I really enjoy Cat Stevens also. I need more silence and more music in my life... and less whining which is what I hear most of the day. :-)

Hi, Melanie, Suki and em, thanks for your comments.
M.Kate, you are sweet. My profile photo is in shadow and under that hat I have white hair! Shocking yes!
I am 52 years young :-), but I think I could pass for 42 on a good day :-).
