I even framed the Degas poster I schlepped all through Europe in my 20's. I'm usually drawn to landscapes, but love the richness in the portraits of Rembrandt.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15238905633085051322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605417514477511121.post-12754104548061940432009-02-23T05:29:00.000-08:002009-02-23T05:29:00.000-08:00I think the move from the shaded background on the...I think the move from the shaded background on the right to the white on the left gives it an added dimension and a feeling of movement.Ianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05167458171459084910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605417514477511121.post-10344698574700596112009-02-23T03:28:00.000-08:002009-02-23T03:28:00.000-08:00That is lovely Annie- I could look at it for ages ...That is lovely Annie- I could look at it for ages and see something different each time. Beautiful! It would work well as a print on cards too.

Fav painters... Pre Raphaelites were good-I like their use of light and the way you can read the meanings, I like Caravaggio's use of curascuro but not all his work; Monet's use of colour, Rackham, ooo there's so many! Paintings I have here are by Lynn Fraser a local artist and Rima Staines.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nellbelle/sets/72157594200707017/
http://www.intothehermitage.blogspot.com/

It's good that you are throwing yourself into what is inspiring you. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605417514477511121.post-69470547725273518002009-02-22T21:06:00.000-08:002009-02-22T21:06:00.000-08:00I can't say I have a favorite artist.
